Maria – Office Manager

Maria fell into dentistry by chance! After 20 years in the mortgage industry she was laid off when the real estate markets collapsed. One day she met Dr. Luckman, who was visiting with her mom, Maria’s neighbor. Coincidently, Dr. Luckman was looking for an office manager and offered to help Maria transition into a career in dentistry. Although apprehensive, Maria took a chance and now loves it because of the great relationships she has with patients. Her great experience in the dental field is partly because of the excellent practice she works at. She feels Dr. Luckman is an awesome dentist because she is constantly improving her skills and knowledge by attending continuing education courses and she invests in the team to grow and improve as well. This results in the best patient care possible. Maria and her husband were high school sweethearts. He is still the love of her life along with her two daughters and grandbaby. She enjoys doing Yoga, swimming, running and walks on the beach.

Carey – Registered Dental Hygienist

Carey grew up around the dental profession so naturally it was a fit for her to become a dental hygienist. She loves being a dental hygienist and helping people take care of themselves. It is a job for her to come to work everyday because of the great patients. Away from work, her husband and family is her focus. When she is not watching her sons participate in sporting events she is watching her daughters in musicals. She and her family love to travel as well and can be found jet-setting the globe with passports in hand.

Nicole – Registered Dental Hygienist

Originally from Boston, dentistry came naturally for Nicole.  She followed the foot steps of her sister and wanted to be in dentistry at the young age of 14.  Immediately after high school she entered hygiene school to follow her career path to be a hygienist.  She moved to San Diego in 2010 to enjoy the sunshine, outdoors, soccer, beach volleyball, bike riding, running and taking her dog to the beach.

Julie – Dental Assistant

Julie has always had great experiences at the dentist as a patient and wanted to pass that along. She became a dental assistant because she likes to help people. The thing she enjoys most about working at this office is that everyone is gentle and genuinely cares about each and every patient. Dr. Luckman emphasizes the importance of continuing education to expand her own knowledge and skills and encourages her dental team to do the same. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew, cooking, shopping and being outdoors as much as possible.

Manuel – Certified Dental Assistant

Manuel has been a CDA for 7 years. He is often humbled to hear patients compliment him on how gentle he is and that puts them at ease. He loves coming to work as it feels like a vacation. In addition to focusing on patient care and satisfaction, he handles the everyday business operations. He is bilingual in Spanish and English and is able to help Spanish speakers feel comfortable communicating with the office. He enjoys spending time with his family and staying fit by going to the gym.
